Learning Outcomes 1. Describe the basic building blocks of a computer and the im-
portance of computer programming.
2. Construct algorithm and computer code through the process of
top-down, stepwise refinement.

3. Analyse algorithm and computer code for correctness.
4. Apply object-oriented programming in developing computer
program.

Synopsis Introduction to computer and C++ as high level programming lan-
guage, algorithm development, control structure, function, arrays,
pointers and object oriented programming
