English Language Requirement

        (for international candidates)

        1.   Minimum entry requirements for International Candidates writing their Thesis/Dissertation in English:
            (a.)  Band of 5.5 and above in IELTS (Academic); or
            (b.)  Score of 550 (PBT), 213 (CBT) or 80 (IBT) and above in TOEFL; or
            (c.)  Score according to programme standard if higher than (a) or (b) above; or
            (d.)  Band of 4 and above in Malaysian University English Test (MUET); or
            (e.)  Score 42 and above in Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic); or
            (f.)  Grade C and above in English for General Certificate of Education (A Level), University of
               Cambridge
            (g.)  Grade C and above in English for General Certificate of Secondary Education (O Level),
               University of Cambridge; or
            (h.)  Grade C and above in Cambridge Assessment English: First (FCE)

        2.   Exit requirements for International candidates following courses and/or writing Thesis/ Dissertation in
            Arabic and Bahasa Malaysia:
            (a.)  A Band 5 for IELTS (Academic); or
            (b.)  Score of 500 (PBT), 173 (CBT) or 61 (IBT) and above in TOEFL
            (c.)  Score according to programme standard if higher than (a) or (b)


        How to Write a Research Intent


        A research intent is required to be uploaded  onto the online application system for all Research
        mode programme


        WRITING A RESEARCH INTENT:
        Applicants for higher degree programmes by research are required to submit a brief statement of
        the research programme which they propose to carry out.


        The proposal should comprise the following elements: -
        i.) Field of Research
        ii.) Topic of Research
        iii.) Statement of Problem (with supportive literature)
        iv.) Research Objective
        v.) Research Methodology
        vi.) Significant of the Research
        vii.) References (if applicable)


        The research proposal should contain maximum 1,000 words.
