The Potpourri of AEI Students
The number of postgraduate students enrolling at AEI has increased over the years.
These students hail from more than 26 countries in Asia and Europe namely Malaysia,
Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Pakistan, India, Sri
Lanka, Bangladesh, China, Japan, South Korea, United Kingdom, Germany, Holland,
Denmark, Finland, Hungary, Italy, France, Poland, Chech Republic and Spain. AEI has also
graduated students from the non-ASEM member countries into our masters
programmes namely Iran, Yemen, Nigeria, Zimbabwe, Switzerland and the United States
of America. AEI has been promoting and supporting a diverse and inclusive student
community. Such strong cultural diversity helps to enhance creativity amongst students
which leads to promote better understanding.
At AEI, you will realize that we have many public outreach activities, such as academic
seminars, lectures and cultural showcases. It is one of the benefits of studying at AEI;
numerous opportunities to listen to top-notch intellects describe the status quo and the
way forward in economics, politics and history. You can unwind and relax by watching
movies from all ASEM nations. Thanks to events of international dimension, such as the
“International Conference on Lifelong Learning” and the visit of European students for
the “Young Europe Meets Asia” event, to Seminars and Round Tables, AEI is actively
developing a multicultural and interactive environment for creating, sharing and
respecting ideas and promoting mutual understanding between Asia and Europe on
political, economic and cultural issues.
