                  AA027012                     SOCIAL POLICY AND DEVELOPMENT
                  3 Credits


                  Course Learning              At the end of the course, students are able to:
                  Outcomes
                                               (1)  Interpret  theoretical  approaches  to  development  of
                                                   social policies in overcoming social problems
                                               (2)  Evaluate the role of social welfare and social services
                                                   in the management of societies
                                               (3) Anticipate  the  impacts  of  social  policy-making  and
                                                   implementation  in  different  social,  economic  and
                                                   political contexts.



                  Synopsis of Course           This course focuses on understanding the needs of social
                  Contents                     policy  development,  identifying  actors  and  organizations
                                               directly  and  indirectly  involved  in  the  formulation  and
                                               implementation  of  social  policy  as  well  as  analyzing  the
                                               process  of  social  policy  formulation,  implementation  and
                                               evaluation in relation to social problems and development.


                  Assessment Weightage         Continuous Assessment: 60%
                                               Final Examination: 40 %
