course, for which the work of a few years under teachers is but a preparation."

We hope that you will take the opportunity to engage productively, not just with your
academic lecturers and mentors, but also with your fellow students, some of whom
have come from different parts of the world. We also sincerely hope that your campus
life will not be restricted to the pursuit of an academic qualification alone, but that
you will use this opportunity to enrich your minds in other worthy pursuit whether it
is community service, sports or music and culture.

I wish you all well in your pursuits of an academic degree in the medical sciences and
hope that you will emerge from your time at the Faculty of Medicine Universiti Malaya
