The Asian Students Environment Platform (ASEP) 2019 journey has reached its
culmination in underscoring the theme of Sustainable Peace Building as the central pillar of
its endeavours. Throughout the immersive six-day program, participants from diverse
academic backgrounds and cultural contexts delved deep into the intricacies of
promoting peace through sustainable development practices. Against the backdrop of
Cambodia's rich cultural heritage and environmental challenges, ASEP 2019 provided a
dynamic platform for exploring the interconnectedness between environmental
sustainability, social cohesion, and peace. From thought-provoking lectures on eco-
friendly initiatives to hands-on activities like tree planting at cultural heritage sites,
participants gained invaluable insights into the transformative power of sustainable
practices in fostering resilience and harmony within communities. The final group
presentations, crafted under the theme "What is Sustainable Peace Building?", epitomized
the program's commitment to innovative solutions rooted in the cultural and historical
context of Cambodia. As participants bid farewell to Cambodia and each other, they carry
with them not only certificates and awards but also a profound sense of purpose and
determination to champion sustainable peace-building initiatives in their respective
communities and beyond. As they embark on their journey home, they leave behind a
legacy of collaboration, compassion, and hope, embodying the spirit of ASEP 2019 and its
enduring mission to build a more sustainable and peaceful world for all.
