GRADING SCHEME

The official University grades including the marks and their meaning are as follows:

MARKS GRADE GRADE POINT DESCRIPTION

90-100 A+ 4.0 Distinction
80-99 A 4.0 Excellent
75-79 A- 3.7 Excellent

70-74 B+ 3.3 Pass with Honor
65-69 B 3.0 Pass with Honor
60-64 B- 2.7 Pass with Honor

55-59 C+ 2.3 Pass
50-54 C 2.0 Pass

40-44 D+ 1.3 Fail
35-39 D 1.0 Fail
00-34 F 0.0 Fail

ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Subject to the sub regulation 3(3) of these Regulations, a student whose attendance in any course is below 80%
without any acceptable reason or without obtaining prior permission from the lecturer concerned may be barred
from taking the final examination of the semester for the course concerned by the Dean of the Faculty of the
programme of study. The student will be notified in writing by the Dean of the Faculty concerned before the
commencement of the semester examinations if he is barred from sitting for the final examination of the semester
for the course. The student shall be given one week from the date of the said letter to submit an appeal. Based on
any reasonable grounds, the Dean of the Faculty may retract such notification
