LEGISLATIONS AND PRESCRIBED RULES

(1) Master’s Programmes
Master’s candidates are governed by the Universiti Malaya (Master‘s Degree)
Rules and Regulations, 2019.

(2) Ph.D Programme

Ph.D candidates are governed by the Universiti Malaya (Degree of Doctor of
Philosophy) Rules and Regulations, 2019. In addition to the above, all
postgraduate candidates are also governed by the Universities and University
Colleges Act, 1971 Constitution of the Universiti Malaya, and all other statutes,

rules and regulations currently applicable in the University including the
Universiti Malaya (Discipline of Candidates) Rules 1999.

Malaya, the candidates have the responsibility to be aware of and abide by the
rules and regulations of the University, the policies and requirements of their

respective faculties, and the advice contained in this handbook.
