This course is designed for students with basic proficiency in
GLT1018 - Proficiency in English I English. Focus is on building speaking and reading CEFR A2+
competence with an emphasis on accuracy in grammar and on  MUET BAND 2
 2 Credits vocabulary building. Students will develop structural accuracy,  IELTS Band 4.0
1  Offered in Semesters 1 & 2 reasonable oral fluency and language appropriateness by  TOEFL Paper – Based Test (437 – 473)
practising the language in a variety of contexts.
 TOEFL Computer – Based Test (123 – 150)
 TOEFL Internet – Based Test (41 – 52)
 PTE (Academic) – (10 – 28)

This course focuses on preparing a speech in English

GLT 1019 - Let’s Speak accurately and coherently. It also develops students’ speech
planning skills in stages. Students will learn to speak CEFR B1
 2 Credits accurately using the appropriate language strategies to a
2 selected audience..

Pass GLT1018 with grade C
 Prerequisite: Students must pass GLT1018

GLT 1020 - Fundamental Writing
 2 Credits This course is designed for students with a pre-intermediate
level of proficiency in English. It focuses on writing skills, with
