DEPARTMENT OF
SCIENCE &
TECHNOLOGY STUDIES
In January 1997, the University’s Academic Planning Committee and the
Senate of the University of Malaya approved the establishment of the
Department of Science and Technology Studies. Although the Department is
considered the youngest in the Faculty of Science, it has actually a long
history.
The Department currently offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses in
interdisciplinary studies of science, technology and innovation in relations to
sustainability, policy, management, history, philosophy, ethics, sociology,
communication, economics, politics and religion.
