The Faculty of Arts and Social Science is deeply saddened by the passing of Associate

Professor Dr Hamidin Abd Hamid on the 20th of September 2022.

A native of Johor, Dr Hamidin was a member of the Department of History, specialized in

African History. "Doc Midin" as he was fondly known by colleagues, students and
followers of his work, was also known publicly for his political analysis and opinions.

FASS offers its condolences to Dr Hamidin’s family and members of the Department of

History. We share their grief in the loss of a talented and highly respected scholar.
