Greetings

University of Malaya Centre for Sport & Exercise
Sciences, CSES (formerly known as Sports
Centre) offers undergraduate degrees in Sports
Management Science and Exercise Science as
well as postgraduate degrees in Sports Science.
CSES features a dynamic curriculum holding
staunch to its motto "Cergas Cetus Cerdas" by
giving an opportunity and avenue for students’
intellectual development. This enriching
experience is provided via the context of expertise
development and knowledge empowerment on a
global extent in the fraternity of sports, recreation
and fitness.

CSES is proud to make a mark among the top
universities with the 2020 QS University subject
ranking for sports-related subject (ranking 51-

100). This proves our keen interest in pursue for
excellence in knowledge especially in teaching
and research.

CSES is empowered by local and international academic staff, highly qualified in their own
field. This includes experts in exercise/sports physiology, nutrition, biomechanics, strength and
conditioning, rehabilitation, psychology, sports management, recreation, law, financing to
name a few.

We are equipped with sports and exercise science laboratories which are housed in UM’s
stadium (UM Arena). Besides the stadium, UM has a relatively large area for exercise and
recreation. All these provide a great platform for our undergraduates and postgraduates to
learn and put theories into practice.

We are also linked to the industry with many of the major sports organizations in Malaysia
being our stake-holders. They provide places for our students to their internship, do research
collaborations and get involved in our curriculum review. Furthermore, CSES has always
indulged in corporate social-responsibility and contribute to the community by providing
advisory, consultancy, and many other voluntary services.
