4.      Admission of Non-Graduating Students

                       (1)    A non-graduating student is a student from outside the University who is
                              given approval to attend any course at the University, whether or not for
                              the purpose of obtaining a grade and/or credit. Such a student shall not
                              be a student of any programme of study at the University.

                       (2)    The admission of a non-graduating student shall be at the discretion of
                              the Dean of the Faculty.

                                                   REGISTRATION

               5.      Registration of a Programme of Study for New Students

                       (1)    An  applicant  who  is  offered  by  the  University  to  pursue  a  Degree
                              programme of study and has accepted the offer is required to register in
                              accordance with the procedures prescribed by the University.

                       (2)    Subject  to  subrule  (3)  below,  a  person  registered  in  accordance with
                              subrule (1) is a student of the University and his name shall be listed in
                              the student register of the University until such time the student have
                              successfully completed his programme of study and the Senate have
                              confirmed that the student is qualified to be awarded a degree, or when
                              for any specific reason the student loses his eligibility as a student of the
                              University, whichever is the earlier.

                       (3)    Every student who has registered for a programme of study  that has
                              been  offered  to  him  shall  register  on  a  continuous  basis  with  the
                              University and if he fails to do so he shall cease to be a student and his
                              name shall be removed from the student register.

                       (4)    Deferment of registration for a programme of study by a new student can
                              only be considered for medical reasons or for any other reasons which
                              are  acceptable  at  the  discretion  of  the  University.  The  period  of
                              deferment  shall  not  be  counted  as  part  of  the  prescribed  duration  of
                              study.  The  offer  shall  lapse  if  the  student  does  not  register  for  the
                              semester or for the subsequent session.

               6.      Concurrent Registration

                       A student is not allowed to concurrently register for another programme of study
                       which leads to the award of a diploma/first degree/post graduate degree at the
                       University or at any other institution or university.

               7.      Course Registration

                       A student is required to register for courses in every semester in accordance to
                       the conditions that is prescribed in the Regulations made under these Rules.
