Student Learning Time (SLT) 120 hours
Credit 3
Learning Outcomes 1. Determine various method of power generation and its mathe-
matical models.
2. Analyse power system network using various power system
models.
3. Calculate symmetrical fault for protection studies.
4. Perform basic insulation coordination studies
Synopsis This course allows the student to have the fundamental knowledge
of power generation and transmission. In general, the course is
about providing an in-depth knowledge of the modern theory and
practice of electrical power systems. They will be able to calculate
symmetrical faults, determine the protection requirements and per-
form insulation coordination studies. This requires analysis and per-
forms design calculations.
Assessment 40 % Continuous Assessments
60 % Final Examination
