Synopsis of Course Contents This course is the introduction in the solid mechanics field. This course in-
cludes the study of the behavior of the structure and component of a ma-
chine under the application of load. Load applications that involve are load
axis, flexural, torsion, moment and the combination of both. The loads that
apply in the structure and component of a machine will cause a defor-
mation. The structure and component of a machine were modeled as bar,
shaft, beam and pillar. The implication of mechanical behavior on the de-
sign of the structure and component of a machine will be emphasizing to-
wards the course. The goal of this course is to help the engineering student
to analyze the impact and effect of force and moment to the various engi-
neering structures.
