                               MID 1014: Communication and Counselling in Nursing

                                                                                            3 credits
             Learning Outcomes:

             At the end of the course the students are able to:


             1.     Explain the process of communication, types of communication, factors influencing and
                    barriers to effective communication and communication strategies for client in specific
                    situation. (C2)
             2.     Illustrate the concepts, principles, theory of counseling, and counseling
                    skills during counseling session. (C3)
             3.     Perform interview session using communication and counselling skills for specific
             situation. (A1)

             Course Synopsis:

             This course comprises of knowledge and basic skills in communication and counselling
             technique. Topic covered are definition/concept, theory, process, barrier, technique of
             counselling, listening skills, questioning and interviewing skills .
