MIC2019: Molecular Biology Techniques (Core: 3 Credit hours)

               Learning Outcomes
               1. Discuss the basic concepts of molecular biology and molecular techniques.
               2. Identify suitable tools to perform molecular experiments.
               3. Demonstrate team spirit in carrying out the task given.

               Course Synopsis

This course addresses developments that have led to the ‘New Genetics’. Focus will be placed on
terminology, tools and techniques that are essential in the study and creation of recombinant
molecules with emphasis on biomedical applications. Components linked to occupational safety
and health will also be covered. Practical and basic techniques ranging from plasmid preparations
               to PCR will be covered.
