MESSAGE
In this issue, I am pleased to present to you, the
Strategic Plan of Faculty of Science 2016-
2020. This is a plan by and for Faculty of Science
that has been enthusiastically endorsed by the
University Board of Trustees. It is the result of
many months of information analysis,
discussion in management level and careful
thought by members across all disciplines and
functions. Their commitment to the formulation
of the Strategic Plan is deeply appreciated.
Our intent in publishing this plan is to provide
clear direction for how Faculty of Science will
continue to advance strategically and with unity
of purpose from our current position of strength
to even greater national and international
prominence. The plan takes into account that we
are constantly supporting the vision of
University of Malaya in achiveing excellent world
ranking, as the highest-ranking Malaysian
institution. This is consistent with our spirit in
“Pioneering Towards Excellence Education in
Science”. Rather than rest on our record of
accomplishment, we are committed to taking
even greater responsibility for achieving more
together in the future.
