                    (g) Candidate must notify their supervisor of any problems that may interfere
                       with the research.
                    (h) Candidate shall engage in academic activities organized by the department
                       or the Responsible Centre (RC).
                    (i)  Candidate  must plan  and ensure  sufficient  time  to  do  the research  and
                       write the thesis.
                    (j)  Candidate should  ensure that  his/her  candidature is  always  active by
                       renewing the registration each semester.
                    (k) Candidate shall give three  months‘  notice to the supervisor(s) or inform
                       the  supervisor(s) the  date  for submission  of  the  thesis for examination
                       purposes, so there is no delay in the appointment of examiners.
                    (l)  Candidate is solely responsible for the content, the presentation of thesis
                       and viva-voce presentation.
                    (m) Candidate is responsible for ensuring that corrections are made in a given
                       period after the Board of Examiner‘s meeting / viva-voce and the Senate.

                Requirements for Research Candidate

                (1)    Seminars and Candidature Defence

                       Candidate is expected to actively participate in the Departmental/Faculty
                       events that are useful for their research. The Faculty publicizes upcoming
                       seminars and conferences  through  the  student  notice  boards  and  the
                       website.  Research  candidate is required to present his/her  papers in
                       seminars and candidature defence sessions as follows:

                       (a) Master‘s by Research

                           (i)  Proposal Defence not later than the second semester of candidature.
                           (ii)  Candidature  Defence not later than  the  third  semester  of
                               candidature.

                       (b) Master‘s by Mixed Mode

                           (i)  Proposal presentation  at  the initial  registration  of  the research
                               component.
                           (ii) Candidature Defence at the time scheduled by the faculty.

                       (c) Doctoral by Research

                           (i)  Proposal  Defence  not later than the  second  semester of
                                candidature.
                           (ii)  Candidature  Defence not later than  the  fifth semester  of
                                candidature.
