At the end of the course, students are able to:

1 Mengenalpasti elemen yang mempengaruhi pembentukan pemikiran politik dalam Islam
Identify the elements that influenced the formation of political thought in Islam.
2 Menganalisis jenis-jenis pemikiran politik Islam
Analyse the types of Islamic political thought.
3 Membandingkan pemikiran politik berdasarkan pandangan sarjana muslim terpilih.
Compare political thought based on selected muslim scholars.

Sinopsis Kandungan Kursus / Synopsis of Course Content

Kursus ini secara umumnya untuk mengkaji pemikiran Islam secara topikal yang menyentuh tentang
pemikiran tokoh, aliran tradisi dan moden melalui perbandingan. Oleh itu, pelajar akan didedahkan
dengan faktor-faktor yang mempunyai kesan terhadap lahirnya kepelbagaian politik. Selain itu, turut
didedahkan aliran pemikiran politik yang dibawa oleh tokoh atau aliran. Pelajar juga akan mengkaji
pemikiran politik yang diketengahkan dalam topik tertentu secara perbandingan.

In general, this course will investigate Islamic thought topically which includes figures’ thought,
traditional and modern school of thought through comparison method. Students will be exposed to
the factors which affected the emergence of a variety of politics. Schools of political thought will also
be discussed. Students will examine the highlighted political thought within certain topics through a
comparative approach.
