At the end of the course, students are able to:

1 Menjelaskan ilmu hafazan al-quran, dan sejarah perkembangannya secara mendalam.
Identify in depth the science of memorization of the quran, and its history of development.
2 Menerangkan jenis metode-metode dalam menghafaz al-Quran.
Explain the methods of memorization of the Quran.
3 Mempraktikkan metodologi hafazan terhadap surah-surah pilihan.
Practice memorization method on selected surahs.

Sinopsis Kandungan Kursus / Synopsis of Course Content
Kursus ini membincangkan Ilmu Hafazan al-Quran bermula dengan ilmu hafazan dalam kalangan
orang Arab sebelum kedatangan Islam seterusnya melihat pada zaman awal kenabian sehingga al-
Quran diturunkan. Sejarah hafazan al-Quran serta tokoh-tokohnya turut dibincangkan melalui zaman
nabi, sahabat, tabiin seterusnya zaman terkemudian. Pelbagai metode hafazan dikenalpasti dari
India, Pakistan, Timur tengah dan di kawasan Asia. Seterusnya kaedah-kaedah tersebut dipraktikkan
dalam menghafal beberapa surah pilihan.

This course discusses the science of memorizing the Qur'an starting with the science of
memorization among the Arabs before the arrival of Islam and then looking at the early days of
prophethood until the revelation of the Qur'an. The history of memorizing the Qur'an and its figures
are also discussed through the times of prophets, companions, and tabiin and later times. Various
memorization methods are identified from India, Pakistan, the Middle East and the Asian region.
Next, the methods are practiced in memorizing some selected surahs.
