STUDENT ASSOCIATION

(UMISA)

Universiti Malaya International Student Association (UMISA) is a student association with
members from various countries and nationalities. The association plays a crucial role in
fostering the unity of the international students communities on campus and collaborating
with the local students for more intercultural adaption amongst the student community in
UM.

The presence of UMISA has also helped promote the diversity of the campus. Creating
awareness for the campus community that UM is a vibrant campus with people from
around the globe gathering at this melting pot full of cultures and ideas. Most importantly,
UMISA serves as a bridge between the University's Management and the International
Students that channel the issues and challenges faced by the students in a timely manner.
Taking care of the international students' welfare is always the association's top priority.

UMISA often organised activities for international students on campus such as interaction
night, podcast sessions, cultural festivals, industry engagement activities, soft skill training
programs, sports games, etcetera. In addition, despite the pandemic, their engagements
and activities have been broadened and intensified through various online initiatives,
including podcasts, online seminars, webinars, etcetera.
