Synopsis of Course Contents This course is to provide student with the necessary skills to recognize the
effect of design to the manufacturing processes and make necessary de-
sign changes that could improve the efficiency of the manufacturing pro-
cess. The manufacturing efficiency if often measure in terms of cost and
time of the manufacturing process. There are many options for manufactur-
ing a component, proper selection and design of component to meet the
required design requirements while being cost and time efficient in critical.
Among the manufacturing process covered sufficient to cater for most in-
dustries. Among the processes to be included are assembly, PCB assem-
bly, common polymer processes and common metal processes.
