             Synopsis of Course Contents           This course is to provide student with the necessary skills to recognize the
                                                   effect of design to the manufacturing processes and make necessary de-
                                                   sign  changes  that  could  improve  the  efficiency  of  the  manufacturing  pro-
                                                   cess.  The  manufacturing  efficiency  if  often  measure  in  terms  of  cost  and
                                                   time of the manufacturing process. There are many options for manufactur-
                                                   ing  a  component,  proper  selection  and  design  of  component  to  meet  the
                                                   required design  requirements while being cost and time efficient in critical.
                                                   Among the manufacturing process covered sufficient to cater for most in-
                                                   dustries. Among the processes to be included are assembly, PCB assem-
                                                   bly, common polymer processes and common metal processes.
