Learning Outcomes 1. Explain the concept behind process-control and instrumentation
system
2. Describe the characteristics, properties and operation of various
types of sensors
3. Construct the analogue and digital signal conditioning circuit for
various sensors by taking into account non-ideal conditions
Describe the characteristics, properties and operation of various
types of actuators.
Synopsis This course will introduce instrumentation technology especially for
process control system. This will include the operation and properties
of various types of sensors. Methodology on how to design the ana-
logue and digital signal conditioning circuits for those sensors will
also be elaborated. This course will also introduce various types of
actuators to the students.
