                            Learning Outcomes      1.  Describe the principles of quantum mechanics to explain the be-
                                                   haviour of charge carriers in solids.
                                                   2.  Determine charge carriers concentration and all factors that will
                                                   affect their values in intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductors.
                                                   3.  Determine all factors that will affect the characteristics and electri-
                                                     cal properties of intrinsic and extrinsic semiconductor.
                                                      4.Describe qualitatively and quantitatively the physical structure
                                                          and characteristics of pn-junction under different biasing






                                      Synopsis     Physics of semiconductor material, fundamental semiconductor equa-
                                                   tions at equilibrium and non-equilibrium, Application of these funda-
                                                     mental concepts to basic semiconductor devices
