Learning At the end of the course, the students are able to:
Outcomes
1. describe economic growth and development concepts
2. interpret development theories and processes; and
3. assess a country’s development policy, problems and practices
Synopsis This course looks into issues in economic development from the point of
theories, policies and practices. Starting from observing the growth and
development theories, ways to measure the process of growth and development,
this course then examines economic changes, development and challenges
faced by less developed countries. The major development policies, practices
and its effects will be analysed with reference to the experience of developed
countries.
