Learning At the end of this course, students are able to:
Outcomes
1. explain the basic concepts of sociological studies;
2. relate these concepts to economic studies; and
3. apply the basic concepts to themselves and their respective roles in the
community.
Synopsis This course is an introduction to sociology. Topics covered include social theories,
social organizations - kinship and family, culture and religion, social stratification -
class, gender, race and ethnicity and collective behavior and social change.
