In this course the students will be given training in advanced techniques of translation theory for
the translation of more complex texts from English to German and vice versa. The focus will be
on a variety of text genres used in daily professional translation practice.

11. TIG3012 : Bahasa Jerman Pentadbiran dan Perniagaan / German for Administration and
Business

Dalam kursus ini, pelajar akan didedahkan dengan penggunaan bahasa dalam bidang
profesional seperti pentadbiran dan perniagaan. Bahan bertulis asli seperti keratan akhbar,
majalah, jurnal, laporan kewangan, surat rasmi, dan lain-lain juga digunakan untuk
mengukuhkan pemahaman pelajar terhadap bahasa dalam bidang sosial dan profesional
tertentu. Pelajar akan diberi latihan praktikal dalam penggunaan bahasa profesional, secara
lisan dan bertulis, agar mereka mampu menghasilkan kertas projek yang berkaitan dengan
kedua-dua bidang yang luas ini.

In this course, students will be exposed to the use of language in the professional fields of
administration and business. Authentic material such as newspaper articles, magazines,
journals, financial reports, formal letters, etc. is used to reinforce the students’ understanding of
language in specific social and professional fields. The students will be given practical exercises
in the use of professional language, orally and in writing, expecting them to produce a project
paper related to any of these two broad areas.
