               MIC1012:  Medical Microbiology (Core: 3 credit hours)



               Learning Outcomes
               1.  Describe microorganisms, their role in causing diseases, and laboratory tests.
               2.  Identify pathogenic microorganisms using specific laboratory techniques.


               Course Synopsis
               This course introduces the applications of microbiology in the laboratory diagnosis of pathogenic
               micro-organisms: bacteria, fungi and viruses.  Emphasis is given on the important key features of
               micro-organisms, growth characteristics, virulent factors and laboratory identification
