      Research on medical humanities won Silver for

                 International Innovation Award 2021

       BY ASSOC PROF DR MD AZALANSHAH MD SYED                 An   interfaculty   team   including   3   members   from   the

                                                              Department  of  Communication  and  Media  Studies  bagged
                                                              a   silver  award   at   MTE2021.   The   three   team   members   from
                                                              the   department   were   Assoc   Professor   Dr   Md   Azalanshah
                                                              bin   Md   Syed   (the   head   of   department),   Rabiah   Adawiah
                                                              binti  Abu  Seman  (PhD  candidate)  and  Rashdaleena  Athiefa
                                                              binti Abdul Rashid (PhD candidate).


                                                              Other  members  of  the  team  were  Dr  Azmin  Azliza  binti  Aziz
                                                              (Faculty   of   Business   and   Accountancy),   Dr   Rasheeda   binti
                                                              Mohd   Zamin   (Faculty   of   Medicine),   and   Assoc   Prof   Dr
                                                              Ahmad   Syadi   bin   Mohd   Zuhdi   (University   Malaya   Medical
                                                              Centre).

                                                              The   team   won   a   silver   award   for   the   International
                                                              Innovation   Award   category   with   their   mobile   application,
                                                              CHD   Self-Care,   that   was   designed   for   coronary   heart
                                                              disease   patients’   prescribed   rehabilitation.   It   is   a   medical
                                                              humanities  project  that  is  funded  by  the  Ministry  of  Higher
                                                              Education   Malaysia   (MOHE)   under   the   Fundamental
                                                              Research Grant Scheme (FRGS).

    Dean  of   the   Faculty   of   Arts   and   Social   Sciences,  University
    of   Malaya,   Professor   Danny   Wong   Tze   Ken   is   the   vice
    chairperson of the GHAS Executive Committee.
