Course Learning Outcomes At the end of this course, students would be able to:
1. describe the need to be healthy, well and fitness
2. explain common related terminologies
3. relate the importance exercise and fitness to lifelong health
4. differentiate a variety of exercise techniques and programs
Synopsis of Course Contents This course provides basic understanding of the concepts in health, wellness and fitness.
The role of exercise in everyday life will be highlighted. Students will be exposed to the
various types of different exercises and fitness program available. The focus of this course
will be to underline the importance of exercise and fitness in improving personal health and
wellness.

Course Learning Outcomes At the end of the course should be able:
1. to define common sports injuries terms
2. to explain the different types of injuries such as acute and overuse injuries, extreme
heat injuries in sports as well as ways of managing and preventing them.
3. to recognize anatomical landmarks that relate to injuries and identify the type of
examination to be used.
4. to identify common sports injuries and their mechanisms
Synopsis of Course Contents Students will garner knowledge of injuries in sports, such as acute and overuse injuries,
extreme heat injuries. At the same time students will be exposed to ways to prevent as well
as basic treatment for the injuries. Students will be encouraged to sit for the relevant
certifications.
