At the end of the course, students are able to:

1 Mengenal pasti karya-karya sejarah Melayu-Islam klasik di Nusantara bagi memperolehi
fakta yang tepat tentang sejarah kedatangan Islam di Nusantara.
Identify the classical Malay-Muslim historical works in Nusantara to obtain accurate facts on
the history of the advent of Islam in Nusantara
2 Menghuraikan sejarah kedatangan dan perkembangan Islam di Nusantara.
Describe the history of the coming and development of Islam in Nusantara.
3 menganalisis masalah dan cabaran masyarakat Islam di Nusantara terutamanya di Thailand,
Singapura dan Filipina.
Analyze the problems and challenges of the muslim societies in Nusantara especially in
Thailand, Singapore and Philippines.

Sinopsis Kandungan Kursus / Synopsis of Course Content

Kursus ini membincangkan sejarah Islam di Nusantara bermula dengan pemahaman kepada konsep
Nusantara dan istilah Melayu diikuti dengan teori kedatangan dan perkembangan Islam ke
Nusantara, sumber-sumber sejarah Islam di Nusantara serta masalah dan cabaran umat Islam
kontemporari di Nusantara.

This course discusses the history of Islam in Nusantara begins with the understanding of the concept
of Nusantara and the term Malay followed by the theories of the coming and the development of
Islam to Nusantara, the sources of Islamic history in Nusantara as well as the problems and
challenges of contemporary Muslims in Nusantara.
