At the end of the course, students are able to:

1 Menjelaskan disiplin ilmu al-jarh wa al-ta‘dil yang merangkumi sifat dabit dan adil perawi.
Describe the discipline of al-jarh wa al-ta'dil's knowledge which includes the quality of
narrators’ memorization and their justice.
2 Mengenalpasti kaedah-kaedah yang ditetapkan oleh ulama dalam menentukan hukum
perawi.
Identify the methods set by hadith scholars in determining the status of the narrators.
3 Membezakan lafaz-lafaz al-jarh wa al-ta’dil, peringkat-peringkatnya dan hukumnya.
Distinguish the terms used in al-jarh wa al-ta'dil, its levels, and its effects on the status of the
hadith.
Sinopsis Kandungan Kursus / Synopsis of Course Content
Kursus ini membincangkan ilmu al-Jarh wa al-Ta’dil yang merangkumi definisi dabit dan adil perawi,
kaedah mengenalpasti dabit dan adil perawi dan perkara yang terkeluar daripada sifat dabit dan adil
perawi. Bahagian kedua ilmu al-jarh wa al-at’dil pula membincangkan mengenai kaedah-kaedah
yang ditetapkan oleh ulama dalam menentukan hukum perawi. Manakala bahagian ketiga ilmu ini
akan akan membincangkan mengenai lafaz-lafaz al-jarh wa al-ta’dil, peringkat-peringkatnya dan
hukumnya.

This course discusses on the discipline of al-Jarh wa al-Ta'dil's which includes the definitions of the
narrators’ credibility of ‘adalah (just) and their firmness, the methods of identifying the narrators
credibility of ‘adalah (just) and their firmness, and the matters that not included as ‘adalah (just) and
firmness. This course in the second part discusses the methods set by hadith scholars in determining
the status of the narrators. While the third part of this course discusses the terms used in al-jarh wa
al-ta'dil, its levels, and its effects on the status of the hadith.
