“How did you manage to cope with zero income for the past five months? Were you able to feed yourself?” we
           asked.

“Yes, I was very lucky to have one of my bosses who supported me a lot during that time and I am really
grateful towards her. I just had to make some adjustments to my lifestyle. I moved out from my previous
apartment and opted to rent just a small room now which has helped reduce my expenses a whole lot,” she
           said.

“Ahh I see, how is your current room? Are you able to get used to living in a smaller space?”

“Yeah, everything is good. The room may be smaller but it’s alright as long as it feels comfortable,” she said it
out along with her bright smile.

We felt sincere contentment in her smile.
What a strong lady, we thought. Despite all
the hardships she went through, Madam
Emi did not let the pandemic bring her
down. She was able to cope with the hurdles
faced in this pandemic while still
maintaining a positive outlook in life, still
being such a bubbly person. In her darkest
moments, she finds solace in talking to her
son. Madam Emi's son, daughter in law and two grandsons

She reminded us that we should live our life with gratitude and not to allow life to topple us so easily.
For those who might be going through a tough time right now, things may be hard at the moment but
storms don’t last forever, life will slowly get better.
