Besides, he surprised us even more when he talked more about his wife. As he instils discipline at
home, items in the house must be placed back where they are taken from. A few years ago, he realised
that his wife was misplacing things quite often. It was confirmed that she is suffering from Alzheimer’s
disease when she was brought to the doctor. He was indeed surprised when he got to know about her
condition. He stated that he grew more patient and learned to take care of her. In such a situation, he
can no longer get irritated with her. He became more tolerant and loved her even more than before. Mr
Khoo knew that he can never abandon his loved one and he is fully responsible to stand by her side
during these times. He made us really envious of his love towards his wife because he doesn’t leave his
wife alone facing the illness. "Marriage is for life, till death do us apart," he said.
Thoughts and laughs were shared between us. A beautiful mindset was born in both of us and it was a
beautiful day to begin with after the interview. Talking with an older adult is not that complicated. We
just need to find a way to spark the conversation.
