                   Griffith emphasises more on a specific flow of information than information transfer.

                   Simplistically it means LIS is about identifying and understanding information and the
                   required process in managing that information. Also, it is very clear that in managing
                   information,  we  have  to  do  it  with  the  right  competencies.  What  about  KM  and  its
                   definition?

                   As a definition, KM has been defined by researchers, consultants and business leaders
                   from  the  perspective  of  knowledge  process,  behaviour  and  knowledge  as  important
                   assets , , , , .

                   Ernst & Young  define it ‘... as processes, technologies, and organisation for capturing,

                   classifying, and adding value to the intellectual capital of the firm - and then deploying
                   it to the employees.’

                   One of the best definition is by Gartner  where KM as ‘…a discipline that promotes an
                   integrated  approach  to  the  creation,  capture,  organisation,  access  and  use  of  an
                   enterprise’s  information  assets.  These  assets  include  structured  databases,  textual
