MIC1015: Histological Techniques for Biomedical Science (Core: 3 credits)

               Learning Outcomes
                1. Describe the theory and practice behind various specialized histological practices.
                2. Perform practical training in histological techniques.
                3. Demonstrate the ability to work within a team to prepare microscope slides.

               Course Synopsis
This course introduces the basic principles underlying the processes involved in the
preparation of histological sections and staining of tissue sections to demonstrate the
normal histology of epithelial and connective tissues. Students are given elementary
practical instructions on the processing of tissue specimens and preparation of stained
               histological sections.
