                           INTERNSHIP

                        Ms. Scholastika Juis

           Internship Company: Malaysian Environmental Services
           Sdn. Bhd.

Some of the tasks that I have completed successfully
           throughout my internship include:
             1. Research and Presentation on River Water Pollution &
               Fly Ash Solidification.
             2. Drafted Executive summary of EIA for the large-scale
               floating solar project.
             3. Assisted in preparation and data analysis for water
quality monitoring report for submission to DOE.
             4. Facilitated the application for a special license for
               setting up a secured landfill.
During my internship, I not only had the opportunity to broaden the knowledge I gained in class
but also learnt how to apply all that knowledge. This module in BSc in Environmental
Management program allowed me to familiarize myself with EQA1974 which is used in real-life
projects. Other than that, I was instrumental in drafting quality monitoring reports to DOE,
executive summary of EIA, data analysis and application of license for several large-scale and
           special projects.

I was also able to improve my communication skills with colleagues and learned to adapt to
working environment. I learnt what it takes to be successful in industry and this program had
prepared me well to strive in this field.

                              INTERNSHIP

                     Ms. Loveline Ubung Martin

Research industry – Sarawak Tropical Peat Research
           Institute
Internship module in Bachelor of Science in
Environmental Management gave me the opportunity to
join a research facility, collaborating with researchers in
a laboratory setting within the Chemistry Department. I
performed various methods of physicochemical soil
           analysis.

During Covid-19 lockdown, we had minimal hands-on
practical skills in laboratory. Hence, this internship
module provided me the opportunity to gain practical
skills. I also learned many soft skills, especially in
effective communication and leadership skills. The
module also motivated me to pursue my post-graduate
studies, as I could see first-hand the importance of
research, especially for the sustainable development of
           our country.
