MS. Amirah Soraya binti Amirudin

Why did you choose this programme?

I’m always passionate about environmental
conservation and I love outdoor activities,
thus, I chose Bachelor of Science in
Environmental Management in UM for my
studies.

The programme really helped me to prepare
for my job as what we have learnt during
lectures are applicable to my current work as
a junior environmental consultant. Such skills
and knowledge include using GIS application
to map out pollution hotspots, EMS and LCA
application and auditing.

The highlight of the programme was the field
trips. As an environmental student, we had
many field trips to wetlands, rivers,
mangrove, forests, treatment plant and
others. From these fieldtrips, we were able to
better understand what was taught in classes
and relate them to real world situation.

The unique point of the programme is that
everyone in Bachelor of Science in
Environmental Management is treated like

family. The lecturers, staffs, seniors, and
juniors have a good relationship; I can always
reach out to them if I have any issues or
problems throughout my study in UM.
