LiDra Gala Night

The Literary and Dramatic Association (LiDra) organized the
very first Gala Night of the club on the night of 16th June
2023 with more than 50 attendees. It was a night to celebrate
the glorious growth of the club together with the English
Department lecturers in conjunction with honoring retiring
lecturers, Dr. Agnes Yeow and Dr. Carol Leon. With the theme
of ‘Welcome to Wonderland’, every guest made a real effort to
dress up as their chosen character from Alice in Wonderland.
LiDra Gala Night was held in Dataran Sastera, from 8:30 p.m.
until 11:30 p.m. It started with a welcoming speech from LiDra
President, Akif Afiq and followed by a speech from Dr. Susan.
It was truly a sublime night with the moving speeches from
our beloved Dr. Carol and Dr. Agnes and talented
performances from the LiDra members. Men's Best Dressed
was awarded to Farees Haiqal, who dressed as the Cheshire
Cat, while Women's Best Dressed went to Nur Husna, who
splendidly represented the Mad Hatter. LiDra Gala Night was
a night to remember as everyone enjoyed LiDra's
wonderland. Credit should be given to the Gala Night
committee who worked so hard to liven up the atmosphere
with excellent preparations, ensuring the event went
smoothly according to plan.
