English Language Requirements (International Applicant)

• A minimum score of Band 5.5 for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) (Academic); OR
• A minimum score of 550 for Paper-based Test (PBT), a score of 213 for Computer- Based Test (CBT) or a score of
80 for Internet-based Test (IBT) for the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL); OR

i) A score which according to the programme standard respectively if it is higher than the score set for
IELTS (Academic) or TOEFL.
ii) For any programmes standard which states that TOEFL or IELTS (Academic) score to be lower than
what had been constituted by the university, these programmes have to follow the minimum score set
by the university.

• A score of Band 4 and above in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET); OR
• A score of 42 and above in the Pearson Test of Academic English (PTE Academic); OR
• A Grade C and above in English for Advance Level; OR
• A Grade C and above in the Cambridge Assessment English: First (FCE); OR
• A Grade C and above in the Cambridge Assessment English: Advanced (CAE); OR
• A Grade C and above in the Cambridge Assessment English: Proficiency (CPE).

An exemption may be granted to:

i. Those applicants that originated from a country that uses the English Language as the National Language.
ii. Those applicants that possessed an Academic Qualification from an institution that uses the English Language
fully as the medium of instruction.
iii. Those applicants that further their studies in Malaysia and plan to pursue their studies to a higher level and
subject to the requirement in number two (ii).
