UNIVERSITY COURSE (GENERAL STUDY COURSES)


               The Ministry of Education Malaysia has reviewed the offering of Compulsory Subjects Courses (CSC) at all public universities in the
               country. Thus, the General Studies Courses (MPU) was introduced based on area of philosophy of science which involving the areas
               of humanities, science and social sciences. The structure of the MPU course, otherwise known as the University Course (KU) at the
               University of Malaya, is seen as being able to produce holistic graduates, appreciate the values of Malaysian patriotism and identity,
               and be able to master the soft skills needed to achieve job marketability.


               According to the MPU Guidelines, MPU courses have been divided into four (4) groups:

                     Group (MPU)       Description

                           U1        -  Appreciation of philosophy, history and values

                           U2        -  Mastering the soft skills

                           U3        -  Expending knowledge about Malaysia
                           U4        -  Practical based in community management skills such as community services and co-curriculum


               In University of Malaya, the MPU courses, known as the University Course (KU) is offered in ten (10) courses as follows:
