PMGS 6333 COMMUNITY HEALTH EDUCATION 3 CREDITS
Synopsis
This course prepares students to become effective health educators in handling the public health
problem. Students identify and manage issues relating to public health such as environmental pollution, vital
statistics, sex-related problems, and others. Students will be exposed to a number of strategies that are
considered effective to change the behaviour of society as a public information strategy of spreading Malaysia
"Healthy Life".
Assesment Method : Continuous Assessment (Test, Assignment): 60%, Examination : 40%

PMGS 6336 MENTAL HEALTH 3 CREDITS
Synopsis
This course provides an awareness and understanding of concepts and theories related to mental
health, mental illness types (causes and symptoms), behaviour modification programmess and counseling for
mentally troubled students and multi-level research on mental health issues today. The role of counselors and
teachers as well as ethics and procedures in the process of behaviour modification will be discussed.
