University of Malaya receives 6-Star rating (in Mature University category) in the
Malaysia Rating for University and University College Excellence (SETARA) 2017
by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia on 16 November 2017

SETARA 2017 is developed to fulfill the
national higher education aspirations as
outlined in the Malaysia Education
Blueprint 2015-2025 (Higher Education).
It has six levels of ratings, from One-Star
(poor) to Six-Stars (outstanding) based on
four criteria:
(i) General,
(ii) Teaching and Learning,
(iii) Research, and
(iv) Services.
