STREGHTENING

RESEARCH THRUST In line with the University's missions to be an
internationally renowned institution of higher
learning in research, innovation, publication and
teaching, one of the important pillar of the five is
INDUSTRY BASED
Research Excellence. UM have had a leap in high
RESEARCH impact research since 2011, when the Ministry of
Education (MoE) injected RM590 million into the
UM-MoE HIR (High Impact Research) program. The
HIR funding has ceased but the research culture
continues by maintaining high impact publication
and strengthening research based on industry needs.
