Synopsis of Course Contents This course provides students with knowledge and guidance to manage a sporting team or
individual athletes making up a team at the local club, regional level or internationally.

Course Learning Outcomes At the end of the course, students are able to:
1. Explain and discuss the role of media and media relations in sport.
2. Apply basic theories and principles of communication and public relations in sport.
3. Prepare a simple public relations and crisis management plan for sport organisation.
Synopsis of Course Contents Students will be introduced to the theories and different concepts of media, media relations and
public relations in sport setting. They will be able to evaluate theories related to local and
international sport context. Roles and responsibilities of media director will also be discussed.
Students will learn about sport communication and public relations strategies.
