Course Title RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Course Learning At the end of the course, students are able to:
Outcomes 1. Analyse the literature review in accordance to the research to be
conducted.
2. Design a research proposal for the chosen topic.
3. Communicate the ideas of the intended research.
Synopsis The focus of this course is on quantitative and qualitative research methods
and designs. It will emphasise essential concepts of the research process,
ethics, and objective measurement. Students will be taught how to write
research proposal, critically review and interpret literature, choose appropriate
research designs, identifying correct statistical tests, present results and data,
and discuss findings. Mastery of these concepts are important for writing a
dissertation and scientific article. Finally, this course will prepare students for
their research project.

1. Critically review articles and synthesize ideas
2. Comply to research ethics in executing the research project
3. Design and conduct research; methods, data collection,
analysis and presentation
Synopsis Students are required to do a research project on a topic of their
choice and with the guidance of a supervisor after completing the
coursework. Students will be given the opportunity to critically
review articles and synthesize ideas, conform to research ethics
and ultimately design and conduct a research experiment.
