Sinopsis Kandungan Kursus / Synopsis of Course Content
Introduction and classification of heterocyclic compounds; synthesis and reactions of five- and six-
membered rings heteroaromatic compounds with and without ring fusion. Basic principles of
medicinal chemistry; categories of drugs and basis of drug action: drug-receptor model; drug design-
and development; drug and pro-drug metabolism; pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics.
Application of selected important heterocyclic compounds in medicinal chemistry.
