Comparatively, what are LIS and KM managing then?

Effectively, librarians are already familiar and have the competencies in managing one
type of knowledge already, which is explicit knowledge. In doing so, the discipline looks
into the management of materials, mostly books, and a place, that is a library. We are
passionate about these, two things and anything related to them to the extend
subconsciously we act similarly when we are managing information. We are managing
all of this mostly as a thing. Our paradigm is that the most important things are the two
physical materials and the library and most of our decision makings is based on this
paradigm. As such, making sure they are in good condition and the security of the
materials and place are paramount. This is good and we continue to manage our library
as a thing. To improve and move into much greater and better things we need to change
                   some of these mindsets.
