Why did you choose this programme?

Applied Mathematics, particularly statistics,

combines my interest for mathematics and
real-world application. I chose the Bachelor of
Science in Statistics programme in Universiti

Malaya due to its technical rigour and strong
academic standing.

This programme provided a strong foundation for my understanding of
statistics, which proved to be crucial for me to explore a career in various

fields. It also provided industrial training, which allowed me to dabble into
economics, which led me to the path of my career.

My final year project was the main highlight of the Bachelor of Science in
Statistics programme for me. The project allowed me to utilize the knowledge I

have learnt in the last three years of the programme in applications. It was
also the first time I was exposed to statistical programming, an area of

training that I now use rather regularly.
